      Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa Announce Employee of the Year for 2025

      Newmarket’s award-winning Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa is delighted to announce that Liam Schofield, Bar Supervisor, has been named Employee of the Year 2025, with the award presented on the 4th February 2026.

      Liam’s achievement follows a nomination process by his colleagues and a final decision by the hotel’s senior management team. Since joining Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa in December 2022, Liam has consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, passion for hospitality, and an unwavering commitment to delivering outstanding guest experiences. 

      Renowned for his warm, guest-focused approach, Liam consistently receives excellent feedback from guests and colleagues alike. His dedication has been recognised internally through three Employee of the Month nominations, reflecting the high regard in which he is held by his peers. Liam was also a finalist in the Velvet Magazine Food & Drink Awards 2025, recognised as one of the ‘Hospitality Heroes’!

      As Bar Supervisor, Liam plays a pivotal role across the Roxana Bar and Squires, the hotel’s award-winning two AA rosette restaurant. Holding a WSET Level 2 Award in Wines, he brings extensive product knowledge and confidence to his role, enhancing the guest journey through thoughtful wine pairings and expert recommendations. Liam is also instrumental in the creation of the hotel’s monthly signature cocktails, combining creativity with a keen awareness of emerging industry trends.

      Whether leading service in the bar, supporting the restaurant during busy periods, or assisting the night team, Liam’s flexibility and commitment ensure seamless operations across the hotel’s food and beverage departments.

      A true team player, Liam is passionate about sharing his knowledge and supporting those around him, fostering a positive and collaborative working environment. Beyond his day-to-day role, he actively supports the hotel’s HR team with engagement sessions at local schools and colleges, championing hospitality as an exciting and rewarding career path and inspiring the next generation of industry professionals. In recognition of his outstanding contribution, Liam will be rewarded with a luxury weekend away at a Pride of Britain Hotel of his choice.
