Noel Byrne, Bedford Lodge Hotel’s Chief Executive, has been named Businessperson of the Year at the annual Newmarket & District Chamber of Commerce awards.
Noel’s hotel experience spans 36 years, including 10 at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, Newmarket’s only AA-rated four-star hotel.
The accolade, awarded for the first time at the event, recognises the person who, in the judges’ opinion, has served above and beyond the call of duty.
Graham Abbey, Chairman of NDCC, commented: “We were very pleased to receive strong nominations for this award. Our judges were delighted to present the award to Noel for his continuing and active support of many business and charitable organisations in Newmarket, including NDCC. Those who nominated him had all benefited from his time, advice and support, all of which he offers freely and without agenda.”
Noel said: “It’s a great honour to be nominated let alone win. Newmarket is a historic town with a rich and distinguished heritage. I am pleased to support Newmarket and our local businesses.”
