Fancy yourself as a Tiger Woods or Padraig Harrington?  You can combine your stay at Bedford Lodge with a mini golfing holiday in Cambridge at the Gog Magog Golf Course.  If fishing’s more your thing, take a trip to the Earith Lakes Fisheries in Huntingdon. 

All the family can enjoy horse riding at Coach House Riding Stables in Chippenham, near Ely, while children are bound to love falconry at The Owl Barn in Diss.  The Wild Tracks Activity Park in Newmarket will be another one to tempt the kids.

For something a little more sedate, consider hiring a bike in Cambridge.  Cambridge Bike Tours will guide you around this beautiful city which oozes charm and history. Or take a trip to Chilford Hall Vineyards in Cambridge for wine tasting and a tour.  There really is something for everyone!

A day fuelled with excitement and adrenalin... there's even FREE entertainment for the kids with a Punch and Judy show, giant inflatables and a children's playground!  All children under 18 are admitted FREE on all racedays, except Summer Saturday's Live and Adnams Newmarket Nights, making it one of the best value family days out you can find.

NEW for 2012 is 'Summer Saturdays Live' (McFly - 9th June and Steps - 25th August only) which includes racing and then a post-race concert.

The showcase Saturday has to be the final date, 25th August, where not only will you experience racing and a post race concert (Steps) but you'll have the chance to see the historicNewmarket Town Plate, the world’s oldest surviving horse race, taking place after the last official race.  Instituted by Act of Parliament by Charles II nearly 350 years ago, it is believed to be the first race ever run under written rules anywhere in the world. It was first staged at the same time as Charles II took horseracing to America with the first track, also called Newmarket, built just outside New York.

For true amateur riders and run over three and three-quarter miles, this remarkable race sees those taking part compete for traditional prizes which include a pound of Newmarket sausages!
